Technical Recruiter (m/f/d)

Garching b. München (DE)
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

At planqc, we are building scalable quantum computers based on neutral atoms. Turning this technology into practical systems requires world-class scientists, engineers, and software experts—and finding those people is one of our biggest competitive advantages.
As our Technical Recruiter, you will play a key role in shaping the future of planqc by attracting and hiring exceptional talent across software engineering, quantum physics, algorithms and business functions. You won't simply fill positions, you'll build talent pipelines, influence hiring decisions, and help us become an employer of choice within the deep-tech community.
Working closely with hiring managers, founders, and the People team, you'll develop hiring strategies, improve recruiting processes, and deliver an outstanding candidate experience while supporting one of Europe's fastest-growing quantum computing companies.
This role is perfect for someone who combines outstanding recruiting expertise with curiosity, business acumen, and a genuine passion for technology.

Your responsibilities

Own end-to-end hiring
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from kick-off to signed offer.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand business needs, technical requirements, and hiring priorities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor throughout the hiring process, challenging assumptions where appropriate and helping teams make better hiring decisions.
Find exceptional talent
  • Develop creative sourcing strategies for highly specialized engineering, scientific, and business roles.
  • Build and nurture long-term talent pipelines for future hiring needs.
  • Engage passive candidates through personalized outreach and networking.
  • Represent planqc at conferences, university events, meetups, and other recruiting initiatives.
Deliver an exceptional candidate experience
  • Ensure every candidate receives a transparent, professional, and engaging hiring experience.
  • Coordinate interview processes that are structured, efficient, and fair.
  • Act as the main point of contact throughout the recruitment journey.
Improve how we hire
  • Continuously improve recruiting processes, interview structures, and assessment methods.
  • Use recruiting data and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and other technologies to automate repetitive tasks, improve sourcing, enhance candidate communication, and increase recruiting efficiency.
  • Stay informed about market trends, salary benchmarks, and developments within the deep-tech talent landscape.

What you bring

  • A solid experience recruiting technical talent, ideally within deep-tech, software, software engineering, algorithms, fintech, quantum, semiconductor, robotics, aerospace, AI, or another highly specialized technology environment.
  • Demonstrated success hiring difficult-to-find technical profiles through proactive sourcing.
  • Experience partnering with engineering leaders and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of technical roles and the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies.
  • Excellent sourcing skills using LinkedIn Recruiter and other creative sourcing approaches.
  • Experience using an ATS (Personio experience is a plus).
  • Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with senior candidates.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using recruiting metrics to improve hiring outcomes.
  • Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies: you enjoy experimenting with tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to work smarter and continuously improve your recruiting practice.
  • Fluent English; German is a plus.
  • You bring your authentic self to work and enjoy building genuine relationships. We care deeply about delivering great work, but we also believe curiosity, kindness, and sharing a laugh along the way make us a stronger team.

About us

planqc builds neutral-atom quantum computers based on arrays of optically trapped atoms controlled with high-precision laser systems. Our platform combines technologies from optical lattice clocks, quantum gas microscopes and fast Rydberg gates into a scalable computing architecture.

Founded in 2022 as a spin-off from MPQ and LMU Munich, we translate more than a decade of AMO research into deployable quantum systems. Our work spans vacuum and laser hardware, control electronics, firmware, system software and algorithm integration. We focus on turning complex experimental setups into stable, reproducible systems that operate in real computing environments.

Behind this technology is a team that pushes technical boundaries, values open exchange and shared ownership. Physicists, engineers, software developers and business specialists work closely together, often across disciplinary limits. We believe progress comes from combining deep expertise with practical engineering and from giving people the responsibility and trust to shape their domain.

As we grow across our locations in Garching, Ulm and Innsbruck, we continue to build an environment we continue to build a company where people take ownership, learn from each other, and directly shape the systems we bring into operation.
